The Best ODI Ever!

Fifth and deciding final of the One Day International series between South Africa and Australia and it's gotta go down as the best match ever.

Aust. bat first and score an incredible and world record 434 off the fifty overs. Ricky Pontings 164 was a good a knock as you'd ever see.

And then the second innings with such an unlikley target but the Saffas were ahead in the early overs despite Dippenaars early wicket. He's got such a slow scoring rate in this day and age it really wasn't a bad thing to happen at all. Gibbs rocked on with a good support crew and next thing you know SA are in with a decent shot.

A dubious decision to bowl Lewis out could have been the difference. Lewis went for 113 from his ten overs. The worst bowling figures ever!

Boucher was given the honours or scoring the winning runs with one wicket in hand and two balls to go. Brilliant stuff.

But what else is there to say? Were Aust. just too cocky? SHould Lewis ever play for Australia again? SHould Ponting be roasted for that decision? How about Bracken dropping Gibbs? All of them can be construed as game turning moments.

I dunno and really don't care. First and foremost I'm a cricket supporter, I love individual players but no teams. If Australia get clobbered I take a certain amount of joy out of it and likewise if they have a huge win. I just want to see a good game of cricket which is what we saw last night.
