This morning my daughter discovered a cockroach under the desk.  Happily it was lying on its back, but unfortunately its legs were still moving.  I have sprayed it with pifpaf, a wonderfully powerful insect killer, and it's now lying still.  But sooner or later I will have to get out the dustpan and brush and get rid of the body.  Just thinking about it makes me feel nervous.

Which are more scary - big spiders or big cockroaches?  The jury is still out on that one.
