It's never as bad as you think it'll be
I went back to school today and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. They let us go home at twelve instead of three, so that helped make it a better day. I shall be teaching grade 3, the same as last year, and grade 5, which I've never done before. All English and Social Studies, no maths this year, which will be strange. One of my colleagues was hit by a shell in the war in South Lebanon; he had to have 40 stitches and spend a fortnight in hospital there. We have yet to learn if our students from Lebanon are all right; some of them cut short their holidays this summer to escape the war. Hopefully most left before things got too bad, although all will have left family and friends behind them.

I go back on September 11th and I think it will be more difficult this time around. But that is what I think...
