Best Friends, Different genders

My best friend is a guy. We have been the best of friends for half our lives. But there have been many obstacles. So many people in middle School and high school gave us a bad time because we were usually together. There were also those times where one of us would be having a sleepover. We both threw quite a fit when we couldn't invite each other to the parties.

Have any of you had a similar problem?

  • yes- my childhood friend is a boy ( i am a girl). he lives across the street. i used to have the best times with him. i don't know what happened to our friendship. there are times when it looks as if he is about to come aproch me but doesn't because i'm surrounded by girl-friends there are also times when i am this close to confronting him but he is surrounded by either rich kids ( which i'm no) or jocks (another thing a i am not) i miss him sometimes. ( jeez that sounds sick!)

  • It's can be quite strange watching your friends change and become totally different people. I've seen my best friend change in so many ways, but we still stick it through.

  • I met one of my best friends in the third grade! He moved here from Massachussetts! He always stood up to me no matter what and I could talk to him about anything anytime! I am in the 8th grade now and we are still friends. we have grown apart a little bit but still talk and hang out every day!

i think it was Rachel ( Rachel became my best friend after Zac { childhood friend}) she seemed like a third wheel ( not that me and Zac are a couple- we are SO NOT!) she was there i don't think she felt it but i know me & Zac sure did.
i hope we spend more time together after this.

  • I think that having a friend of the opposite gender can be a great thing in life. It makes you understand how the other one feels. It's totally natural so don't worry. If your happy you shouldn't be upset about people makng fun of you.

  • So, I was right we did spend a lot of more time together after my last comment on this post. Zac and I had dinner together. But not as a couple, we stood around in Rachel's backyard and eat meatballs off of paper plates with our hands. Very weird. But Rachel wasn't hovering (not that she was before). So it seemed more natural. And a few days later we started emailing! I was SO freaked out when I got the first email from hims since I din't know who it was from. But I liked that fact that we email now. And talk during school. Wich of course causes gross talk by both of our groups- brains (me), wallets (him),looks (me), and/or jocks (both of us).

So our future friendship looks bright!
