I'd forgotten I had this here bloggy thing.  I'm on a bit of a high tonight so I thought I'd post.

We've been beavering away at the fundraising and it has gone very well so far.  We held a quiz night tonight and we weren't getting much interest.  I was even considering calling the whole thing off at the beginning of the week.  It was only a small venue and I was really frustrated that I couldn't fill it, despite loads of advertising and driving my colleagues mad by nagging them to attend.

I'd put adverts in the local papers last week and this week, but had no response until this afternoon when a couple more people booked tables.  Then some of the people who'd put themselves down for two or three places turned up with full teams of six - in the end we were full to bursting.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we raised nearly £300.00 in total.  We'd already sold loads of raffle tickets at work this week and raised £250.00, so it's been a very good week.

We can ease up on the fundraising now and step up the actual physical training for our trek.   I don't mind younger people being faster than me or having more stamina but  I live in fear of being shown up by a bunch of OAP's!
