Numbness

Well, it may be a bit before I am able to return to packing.  My right hand has three fingers which refuse, so far, to wake up.  So, if I pick anything up there is a strong chance I will drop it.  I will be patient.  I accomplished a great deal yesterday so I may play for just a bit.

I noticed when I type it seems to wake up sleepy parts much faster than just shaking the offending body part.  I can't feel certain keys but that is fine.  Hopefully everything will return to normal within the next hour.  Plus, that will give me time to eat a good breakfast.  If I become involved in a project, I often forget to eat.

Today is the last of the knick-knacks.  This includes the sand Hubby has collected from different places around the world.  We have not traveled to these places.  Each time one of Hubby's co-workers goes on vacation, they tell him where and if it is near a beach he supplies them with a thick plastic bag in which to collect sand.  Everyone is very willing to do so.  Each time we place the sand in a sealed container.  Sometimes we are given shells or coral.  One of our exlandlords gave us some sand from a trip.  As it seemed to bring nothing but junk luck, we tossed it.  Of course, this was the landlord who loved to give me presents.  Sorry, folks, but that just disturbed me.  Ok, so I watched his dog while he was gone.  That was reward enough.  That doggie was great.  He followed me around and kept trying to get me to get into his dog house.  I suspect he saw me as another doggie.  He would go to his house and turn and stare at me.  Then when I was near the dog house, he would go inside and scoot as far back as he could and look at me again.  I think he wanted me to keep him company.  Poor baby, he was left alone so much when people were at home.  No one could be bothered to take care of him.  The sons are grown but, for some reason, could not understand that the dog could not open his dog run, turn on the hose and get a drink.  Nor could he open the garage door to get dog food.  Sometimes humans just shock me.  Animals are much more reasonable.

Ah, the dishwasher has stopped.  The darned thing was running most of the day yesterday with all the food preparation I was doing.  Next week I will pack the kitchen, after our food is prepared of course.

The fingers are returning to normal.  Thank goodness.  First is the numbness then as feeling returns there is pain.  Then all is normal.

I will miss the large oval bathtub but that is all.  Considering I must plan a bath in order to have hot water, it is becoming too much of a chore.  We informed the soon-to-be-ex landlord that the furnace does not provide more than slighly warm air and the water heater (which is located outside in a closet) does not have a constant temperature.  Yet, as of today, his (and her) head are still firmly stuck in the sand.  Hey, I could have said their heads were some place else but I am trying to be nice.

Ok, here comes the final part of feeling coming back.  Ouch!  Excellent!  Now I will be able to do bed making without having the pain multiply.

Tonight is "Kitchen Nightmares".  Two hours of proof of why we eat at home.  After seeing refried beans in a trash can last week, Hubby now refuses to go to Mexican restaurants.  Not a problem.  I am currently working toward curries so adding Mexican foods to my knowledge is easy.  I already can prepare many of the items.

Have a lovely day.  Here it is snowing and a bit of rain.  So, no blinds will be opened.  In the new place, there are double windows.  Hopefully, it will not be like an iceberg near the windows like it is here.

Off to Globals and then Knockout.  I refuse to stop playing just because I am busy.  It is a nice release when I start to move too fast.

Oh, I almost forgot.  In spite of all I did yesterday, which would have normally resulted in an er trip, I slept well.  Perhaps I have discovered the solution to the pain issue....and it is NOT sitting around doing nothing as I was told to do by the doctors.  Ha!  Physician heal thyself and in the process be adept at your craft.

Hugs to you all.  I wish a pain free day for those in pain.  I wish the best for all of you.  I can honestly say for people I have not met in person, you are all excellent friends.  Of course, for all you know, I could be covered in hair and have a horn growing out of the top of my head.  I don't...but people are quite interesting after all.

  • Oh, jeez, I saw that 'Kitchen Nightmares' in the Mexican restaurant. That was beyond disgusting, but I thought it was hilarious when Ramsey toted out the bucket of *gunk* and told everyone eating to STOP! I have seen a lot in my years as a waitress during college, but nothing remotely close to that. Probably because it was an expensive steak and seafood house that was run above standards?
Happy packing, but not too much at once.(!)

  • Thank goodness you're getting your fingers back, and getting rid of your sorry excuse for a landlord. And thank goodness for the sheer blessing of sleep.

Covered in hair... single horn... ooh a unicorn! :D
