So we're sitting in Morning Meeting, and it's Maria's turn to share. She is telling us about the necklace she bought for her mom. The kids get to ask her questions.
"Does it have a charm?"
No, it just is a chain.
"What color is it?"
It's gold.
"Is it REAL gold?"
No, it's fiction.
I had to bite my lip! The good thing is that this means she has a handle on the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Maybe I am getting through to them this year after all!
