New TV Premieres soon

To start off, the newest installment of "Big Brother" will begin tomorrow night (7/13), I hope there will be people who actually want to play the game this time.  There apparanetly is a strong Obama supporter on the show, it would be very entertaining if a McCain supporter or any conservative was on the show as well, that could be a show by itself.  I guess we'll all have to see on that one.  I'd be more excited about this if their hadn't been a Big Brother that aired during last winter, you got the writer's strike to thank for that one.

What I'm more excited about is on Monday night (7/14) when there will be new episodes of "Top Gear".  Even though these are not new to the Brits and most Americans don't even have the channel it is going to air on, I'm still exicted about these different episodes.  Very funny show and there are supercars? Sign me up.

Apparently NBC is going to air an American version of this show and one of the hosts will be Adam Corolla.  I don't think this version will do nearly as well.  For one the BBC is a government runned station, essentially the "Top Gear" guys can do whatever they want with what they're presenting since they're not upsetting any sponsors since there are not any.  As with this U.S. version, the show is going to be much more about the sponsors and they won't be doing anything crazy or anything that will give the sponsors a negative view so I doubt that the show will be that funny.  It will probably be more like "Car and Driver", I don't think the American version will last that long.  Both of these shows will keep me busy until "Ugly Betty" comes back in late September.

  • I hope the American version of Top Gear isn't a disappointment. If it is - thank goodness for YouTube. Here's an exceptionally silly one:
