Not necessarily about FunTrivia, but I might as well put this down anyway.
Ladera Vista Junior High School goes on to the CA state level, 4th place! (top 6 teams can go).
Science Olympiad is a national competition in the United States, where students from 7th-12th grade can participate. Each student in one of several hundred teams in the nation would team up with another participant in one of many events, which cover many branches of science. It's a very exciting and competitive event, and the people involved are always friendly and smart.
Events include:
"Metric Mastery" (understanding and estimation of lengths, widths, masses, volumes, temperatures, etc.)
"Simple Machines"* (caluclating mechanical advantages and efficiences of pulleys, levers, inclined planes, and wheels and axles)
"Don't Bug Me" (basic understanding of the body parts, species, and other stuff about insect)
"Robot Ramble" (high school only; build and control a remote-controlled robot that would be able to perform assigned tasks)
GO L.V. !!! WE MADE IT TO STATE !!!
