The Association Football World Cup is coming this summer, which prompts me to wonder why so many teams have managers who are foreign to the country whose team they manage.

 

There seem to be pretty stringent rules about whether a player is qualified to play for his country, so why  is there no such rule about the team manager?

 

Is there some vested interest at work here, and if so what could it be?  Or did FIFA simply forget about managers when they made the rules?
